YEAR: 1st year
ATRONACH:Rapidash
Character Information
WEAPON'S NAME:Dirige
WEAPON'S HISTORY: Dirge never was a name that was meant for a weapon. It was never even meant to be a weapon in the first place. It started out as a pair of simple steel prosthetics that were made to help Tobi get back on her feet. They weren’t made to be very complicated and was designed and modified by Tobi herself. But when she made the decision of attending Beacon, she figured she needed to be a little bit more than that girl with the false legs and transformed her legs into working weapons.
UTILITY & APPEARANCE: Dirige is the name of Tobi’s pair of prosthetic legs after she completely mod them to house not one, not two, but three fully functioning weapons. One that is not so well concealed would be the 1.5 inch culverin that’s located within her left knee, but it’s only visible when she lifts up her leg since it would be concealed when she’s standing straight. Her other leg holds a hidden blade that goes as long as her shin, when not in use, it retracts back and once again becomes one with the rest of the prosthetic. Now the last ones are only under dire circumstance where Tobi’s unable to use either her gun or shin blade. If those times were to ever present themselves, Tobi has two secret compartments by either side of her legs where a pair of daggers are kept.
ALLIANCE: HunterMiscellaneous
HISTORY: Tobi has always been a spritely kid despite never having much going for her in life. It was all too easy to keep her entertained which came as a relief to her parents. Malik and Rana Pierson, two very loving parents, were anything but abnormal, besides the fact that Tobi’s mother was a faunus (Tobi came out human though, go figure). Considering the world that they currently live in, Tobi was thankful for her simple life. Despite that fact, she strived to make it as interesting as possible, seeking out adventures on her own whenever she could.
While we’re on the subject of her parents, it’s good to mention that they are both graduated hunters of Beacon academy. In fact, that’s where they first met, and fell in love (how embarrassing). So it didn’t come as much surprise when Tobi herself expressed her desire to attend the school as well to become a hunter. A decision that didn’t bring about full support since there’s a slight issue. That being Tobi is handicapped and has been wheelchair bound for a good portion of her childhood starting from the age of seven after an unfortunate accident involving a car and a handful of Red Fang members. Still, Tobi’s parents weren’t trained in Beacon to be killed off by a mere car accident, their daughter though, wasn’t as lucky and ended up losing both her legs. It wasn’t until Tobi turned thirteen did they finally manage to get her a pair of prosthetic legs.
Of course the whole issue about attending Beacon wasn’t that big of an issue before the accident. In fact, Malik and Rana were more than happy to pass on what they know to their young daughter and they even had times where they were deciding on what sort of weapon should she wield. With Malik being an expert at dual wields while Rana was more towards ranged and firearms. But everything’s a lot more complicated now, even though Tobi’s been training herself up to the point where she’s absolutely comfortable with her prosthetic legs (she got down to practicing fighting moves on her own just to prove a point), her parents were still a little iffy on the entire idea, not wanting Tobi to risk leaving in case another incident similar to the one they faced a few years ago might happen again. Which was also part of the reason why Tobi wants to join the academy.
But no matter how much talking or convincing she tried, Malik and Rana just wouldn’t budge. Unfortunately, or fortunately for Tobi, that stubbornness was passed down to her as well and through much sneaking and reading up on how to enrol, she found out that what she first needed to do is get into Signal Academy. Tobi, not letting something like the fact that she had to attend a school on an island off the coast (it’s not like she’s travelling to another country anyway) stop her, left as soon as she could. Without the knowledge of her parents. Of course they went in search for her, Tobi didn’t exactly made it much of a secret anyway and it didn’t take her long to get caught by the two. But seeing her determination to throw herself into danger, Malik and Rana begrudgingly allowed Tobi to attend, much to the girl’s delight. It was also at Signal where Tobi got to modify her prosthetic legs, then called Dirige, to carry weapons of their own, combining both her mother taste in fire arm and her father’s in dual blades together. After that, going through the entrance exam to get into Beacon was no problem.
PERSONALITY: Now, many people would think that losing your legs at a young age would slow you down, maybe have you consider taking a more quiet life. But not for Tobi, she’s about as enthusiastic as ever. Some may even say that she’s over enthusiastic seeing as to how she’s always a moving ball of energy. It can get a little exhausting to watch.
With all that speed and energy, Tobi’s also fairly quick witted, being able to think on her feet if the time calls for it. But all that quick thinking never left much sugar for her to coat her words with. Tobi can be very honest with her opinions on certain matters and it doesn’t occur to her until much, much later. But it’s hard to stay mad at Tobi. Coming from a mixed species family, she’s pretty tolerant and friendly to everyone and can mostly point out the positive traits one has.
But of course she comes with a few negative traits as well. One of those being that she can get very nosy and would be all up in your business if you don’t intend on keeping it a secret. And don’t try to stop her from helping out with whatever issue you have this week since Tobi can be extremely stubborn as well. Trying to get her to explain things like homework may get a little exasperating as well since she tend to get distracted very easily and even when she isn’t, there’s the whole issue of her being too vague in her explanations. On top of that, she can be very flippant about placing herself in dangerous situations.
SEMBLANCE: Tobi’s Sembalance is Faith. It’s fairly risky to use as Faith allows her to do just about anything she believes is possible. Jumping off a 200-foot cliff or punching a hole in a steel plate can be as easy as walking. However, if her faith wavers for even an instant during the process, the Semblance will fail completely, and Tobi will be exposed to whatever dangers this entails.
