As you might have noticed, we are following heavily on the story and themes in RWBY; however, where does pokemon come into the mix? Something that we have added to the forum that was not originally in the RWBY show are atronachs.
In this little universe, an atronach is the embodiment of a person’s soul. Huntsman and huntresses are able to unleash these, either through will or involuntarily, to aid them in battle. Typically, these are only released in times of great need, such as when the hunter is near death. Sometimes, they are known to be released in times of great happiness, involuntarily, and can be docile. Only well trained and powerful hunters can release them at will.
This is where pokemon come into the mix. We have chosen to use pokemon as the creatures that will represent the hunters’ atronach. Of course while in character, they will never be referred to as “pokemon”, just "atronach".
All huntsmen and huntresses are required to choose a pokemon to represent their atronach. It will include all forms of evolution and is NOT limited – you can choose legendary pokemon, too. Only one pokemon per character may be used; it would not make sense for two souls to look alike - even twins won't have identical souls.
Admin will expect that the pokemon you choose matches your character in some way. For example, it would make sense for a beautiful, red haired, feisty woman to have a vulpix for her atronach. It would NOT make sense for a cool, calm, collected, blue haired boy to have a vulpix for his atronach. We don’t expect them to be exactly identical, but a character’s atronach should match their personality.

Question: How would Atronachs appear when outside the body?
An Atronach would burst out of someone's chest, leaving behind no wounds, of course, and will often appear ghostly and transparent. Hunters who have not trained themselves well enough in this field will not be able to control their Atronach much and so it will appear almost like an illusion. Better trained Hunters will have a strong appearing, less transparent, brighter Atronach. In fact, the strongest Hunters' Atronachs will glow.
