I WILL GRAB MY FREEDOM WITH MY OWN HANDS.
Tori panted, staring at the pile of training dummies that were shredded to pieces. Sheathing her shin blades, the red head mused whether or not shed be banned from using the training dummies because she has been destroying quite a lot of them recently ever since she entered Beacon.
Tori recovered from her battle stance and ran a hand across her brow. It's rare for her to actually work up much sweat especially in this weather since everyday is so cold so she's actually quite proud of herself. The coliseum is pretty empty at this point of time, considering how it's a weekend and most students were out enjoying their off days. Now that Tori thought about it, there was this cafe she's been meaning to visit for a while now. Maybe she'll train for a while longer before dropping by the village. Nothing like a ice cold drink right after training!
Motivated by that thought, the girl took a big gulp from her water bottle before leaving it off on the floor and headed off to grab a few more training dummies. Keeping in mind to maybe not totally ruin them this time.

The chilling breeze swept a calm serenity over Beacon that day. While most students enjoyed their weekends by visiting family members, Ariadne stayed at school to slave away to her trade of choice. She would usually spend that time to calmly study, so she wouldn't feel so smothered during the week; however, at some point, studying became old and tiresome and it was best to use time more wisely.
So, Ariadne pulled on her combat uniform, which was really only a simple pair of pants and a hoodie, along with normal, black combat boots. It was an outfit that was form fitting so it wouldn't get in the way, but was also not so skin tight that she couldn't breathe. There was something to gain in simplicity.
After making her way to the Coliseum, Aseryo strapped to her back, Ariadne entered the massive place to find someone was already using the test dummies. There was some random students sitting in the seats, textbooks scattered about, but they didn't seem to notice the duelers. It was normal for students to study in the Coliseum. It was easy to be swept away by its beauty.
For a moment, the fawn-haired girl stood and watched the other girl as she assaulted the dummies. Ariadne was surprised that she was fighting using her... legs? Then, it all seemed to make sense. She had heard rumors about a girl who lost her legs and fought using prosthetics. Originally, Ariadne thought it was a joke. Now, she realized that it was true.
"Hey there!" she called out to the girl with the hopes of catching her attention. Ariadne then casually strolled up to her. "Wanna spar?" she asked, casually placing her right hand on Aseryo's grip. She wanted to see for herself what this girl was all about.

I WILL GRAB MY FREEDOM WITH MY OWN HANDS.
Landing a few more swift kicks against the training dummy, her shin blades kept sheathed this time, Tori quickly finished up what she was doing. She swept her fringe out of her eyes and turned to look at where the voice came from earlier.
Her eyes quickly caught sight of another girl walking towards her. The red head was so certain that the other was here to tell her off about all the ruined training dummies from earlier and was already prepared to apologize. But what the other asked was completely different.
A wide smile spread across Tori's features, "Sure! Beats running circles around these guys anyway." She gestured over to the training dummy. Not a lot of people usually ask her to spar with them first. It's very obvious as to why, but she would've expected the views to be different especially since she's successfully gotten into Beacon. "Let me just get them out of the way." As Tori went on ahead with shifting the training dummies off to the side before returning to where the other girl is standing. "So, shall we begin?"

As Ariadne moved her sword to grip it steadily with both hands, she noticed how quiet the coliseum was. She normally only came here during her sparring class. Her katana, Aseryo, was clearly not designed for a girl of her size. She used to hearing the sounds of snickering classmates during class. People liked to judge, so it was to be expected. However, now, it was silent, aside from the whistling of the wind.
"Ready when you are," Ariadne said, not bothering to make any sudden movements herself. She preferred to start matches with a firm grip on her sword and slow steps. She wanted her opponent to attack first so she could learn.
This was how her father taught her to fight and it was how he stayed alive for so many years. Most people she came across charged into battle, but she was trained differently. Regardless of whether or not her father was right, she would follow the path he left behind. This sword was once his, and not it belonged to her.

Tori grinned widely, its obvious this girl wasn't going to give any chances just because of her handicap. Which was fine with her, it's been something she's been longing for for awhile now. The red head also noticed how the other girls sword seemed a little too big for her, it wasn't so much that she couldn't handle it, but it just looked like it was made for someone of a much bigger stature. Tori's not one to judge though, I mean, who's the one who doesn't have any legs?
She quickly got into her fighting stance, with two hands held up curled into fists to block her face and one leg shifted back just slightly. Observing the other girl's stance, Tobi pushed herself forward, aiming a high kick towards the girls left, her shin blades sheathed for now.

Ariadne controlled her breathing, ensuring that her inhales and exhales were steady, but natural. It was often easy to forget how important it was to breathe naturally when fighting; otherwise, becoming overpowered by an opponent was easy.
The thought of giving this girl any special treatment hadn't even crossed Ariadne's mind. She was huntress, just like herself, and was clearly strong enough to be accepted to this school. She was an unpredictable opponent, nothing more, nothing less.
As the girl moved in, Ariadne made a quick note of her stance. Judging by the way she blocked her face, she had a good feeling her entire leg was fake. This meant that attacking her legs would be pointless.
Ariadne tilted her weapon at an angle that would block the girl's kick, having her hit Aseryo's blade, as opposed to Ariadne's side. It was a simple move, though required proper speed, and Ariadne was known to wield a blade of winds. She knew, however, that holding the blade against the girl's kicks would be difficult and something she could not do forever.

A loud, metallic clang could be heard as Tobi's leg came into contact with the side of the girl's blade. She wasn't expecting the attack to entirely go through, but still at least she now knew how fast the other's reflexes are. And they were surprisingly fast.
"Hey, you're pretty good!" Tobi exclaimed without a hint of sarcasm or meanness. And at that thought, she propelled herself off the blade by pushing most of her weight forward. Taking advantage of her momentum to crouch lower to the ground and proceeded to slide a kick under the girl's feet.

Ariadne grinded her teeth as the unpleasant sound of metal clashing on metal rang loudly through her ears. If any doubt had originally existed about this girl's leg not being fake, it had definitely all cleared up now.
She flashed a brief smile at the girl. "So are you," she quickly said before her face returned to its stoic expression. As the girl began to move again, Ariadne predicted what her next move would be. She thought about her father leaning in and swiping his legs beneath her. She had fallen for that trick dozens of times before learning her lesson.
Out of instinct and memory, Ariadne jumped back, creating distance between the two of them. Dirt kicked up around her as she landed. Sure enough, as the girl spun around, Ariadne realized she just barely missed her.
